Berlin After more than twenty years the German Atlantic Association has once again hosted the annual General Assembly of its umbrella organisation Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA).
True to the motto "NATO TALK around the BRANDENBURGER TOR" the German Atlantic Association organized an international security conference in Berlin in several days' duration. ATA 2008
Cinema show: "The Kissinger-Saga. Henry and Walter - two brothers from Fürth"  A cinema show including a discussion session on the new movie "The Kissinger-Saga" by Evi Kurz was opened by the President of the German Atlantic Association Christian Schmidt MP in Stuttgart on 30. July 2008.

Ambassador Friedrich Gröning, parliamentary commissioner for questions of disarmament and arms control, gave a lecture on perspectives of the arms control at "Haus der Geschichte" (museum of contemporary history) in Bonn on 13. May, 2008.

Book presentation "NATO. From defence alliance to global policemen?", Prof. Dr. Johannes Varwick
 The book presentation by Prof. Dr. Johannes Varwick was moderated by General Dr. Klaus Naumann, RD on 06. March 2008 in Berlin. Michael Rühl, Head of Speechwriting and Political Advisor in the NATO Secretary General's Policy Planning Unit gave a lecture on the atmosphere of change in the NATO. Prof. Dr. Varwick agreed with him and underlined that the alliance is not only a defence alliance anymore but also a politico-military organisation.
